Nike Lunareclipse 2
I recently after realizing that i had gained an unsavory amount of weight over the last few months decided, I need to become active again. Me, loving a good challenge decided to get into running.
I am prone to getting shin splits and for some reason it is far worse in my right leg then my left. After only a half a mile my right leg typically feels like it is on fire and I want to die. So my entire life I ran screaming from the idea of being a runner (I realize the irony). However I am determined to overcome.
I went into the store Sierra Running Company to see if maybe the right pair of shoes would provide a solution. The very helpful staff did a few examinations of the way I walked and came up with a solution. They had me try a few pairs of shoes that offered better support in order to prevent the arch of my foot to collapse more than it should when running.
They put me in a pair of Nike Lunareclipse 2’s. This is only my second day running with them and I already can tell a difference. The pain in my shins though still very existent is not as severe, it is also better spread between both legs instead of focused in just my right. It helps guide my foot in order to land correctly and prevent over pronating. They are super comfortable. Provide great support. Super breathable. Added bonus, love the double layer design detail.
Lafayette
Me and my family went to my aunt’s 70th birthday at my cousin’s beautiful house in Lafayette, CA. Though the birthday lady was very opposed to pictures. These are some of the other beautiful faces of my family.
I highly enjoy digital photography. A good majority of the photos I post are digital. However my original love for photography was because of a good ol’ 35mm. I believe there is a certain character to film photography that you will never be able to replace or replicate with digital photography. which is why I prefer and am more adamant about film.
Julia Navarro
This is my beautiful grandmother. She has endured, sacrificed, cared, and loved, for everyone in my family. She has done more than we could ever have asked. So happy Mothers’ Day grandma no bouquet of flowers or pair of earrings will ever be able to truly show the gratitude and love we all have for you.
P.S. Speaking of beautiful and strong women I would love to have the ability to post a pretty mothers’ day photo of my mother. However, she is sacrificing her day to work and provide for our family.
Let Rise Until Double In Size
When I want to be left alone with my thoughts I tend to take on the tedious task of baking bread. So here is a loaf I just finished.
During my family’s last spring cleaning my mother stumbled upon an old camera bag of my grandfather’s full of awesome! In this bag one of the things I found was a Ricoh AF-40. It was a camera she had given to him to take before he embarked on a trip around Europe in the mid 80’s.
Camera Basics:
The Ricoh AF-40 is a 35mm non-SLR film camera. It can adjust for film speeds 100 to 1000. It has a 38mm f/2.8 lens and an on board flash.
Due to minimal information on this camera I have narrowed it’s production year down to somewhere around 1985-1987.
Working Condition:
I was unsure of the working condition of the camera so I threw a roll of film in there and started snapping away. I discovered that the on board flash no longer functioned but everything else seemed to work just fine. The auto focus took a bit of time to adjust but it eventually came to a conclusion. The viewfinder was a bit hazy and made it difficult to tell whether it was correct or not. I hit the end of the roll and flipped the rewind button. All the appropriate noises occurred. Stopped. Flipped open the back of the camera. Slammed it closed. The film rewind no longer functioned either. I quickly locked myself into a closet, pulled the film out, and manually wound it.
Outcome:
After getting the roll developed all things considered I was pretty surprised by the result. The light damage was very minimal and in my opinion added some character. The low aperture lens allowed for pictures taken inside in low light to turn out much clearer than expected. However some taken outside in brighter lighting came out a little over exposed. The focus was a bit off also.
However, with this knowledge and a little patience I can see this camera being a awesome add to my growing camera collection. Also the sentimental value is a definite plus!
Here are two of my favorites from the batch:
